At the end, two were dead - Shalena and Rakku -, one was down dying - Grisst, also known as Batman -, and two – Dalinor and Nigel the blasphemous bard - were clinging to a small pool of hit points. The group, a level 12 party, teetered on the brink of a TPK for much of the battle. I took the stat block of a death knight (CR 17) and threw legendary actions on top of it. (Fear of commitment maybe?) The heroes then run into a priestess of Yurtrus whom they seem to be handily beating…until a secret door opens to reveal the HIGH PRIESTESS OF YURTRUS. This is what happens when you make pacts with evil deities and then 2 hours later try to break them. His companions help him by pouring holy water over him. They smash the bracelets up (they would have corrupted any who wore them) and spill the basin of unholy water. In the next chamber, they find three altars upon which golden bracelets sit, and a basin of unholy water of Yurtrus. Fortunately, the druid freezes them over with cone of cold and then clears the slime from the room with ice storm.
